MTM CHURCH 14 DAYS PRAYER AND FASTING (ACTS 27:33-34)

Fasting

To MTM Family,

Brethren we were created to do good works and the good works Jesus spoke of in Mathew 25 includes taking care of the poor. You can’t become poor by giving to the poor instead the more you give the more you receive(Proverbs 19:17).

If one’s heart is right before God, then one will take care of the poor; alternatively, if one is not taking care of the poor, then it is obvious there is a heart-problem (Proverbs 28:27).

We are going to relive Isaiah 58: 6-11 Whereby we are going fast like the prophets and apostles of old. So, please look around for the needy and bless them generously. You may give them money (but pray first for the money please). You may buy some groceries for them. You may make or buy clothes and other valuable items for them.

By so doing heaven will be so pleased. But our giving should be to earn kingdom rewards Matt. 6:1-4

CHOOSE A TYPE OF FASTS TO EMBARK ON

The fast you choose should present a level of challenge, but it’s important to know your body, your options, and most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. When fasting you are required to exercise some reasonable precautions. Take into consider your health, any current medical conditions, and consult your physician, especially if you have health concerns, are taking medication, have a chronic condition, or are pregnant or nursing.

TYPES OF FASTS.

1.COMPLETE FAST

Here you drink only liquids. (If you are considering a food fast, it is wise to consult your doctor before you begin if you have any medical condition)

2.PARTIAL FAST

This involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. Typically known as a sunup to sundown fast. You can also use specific times of the day, for example: 7:00am-7:00pm

3.SELECTIVE FAST

You remove certain elements from your diet. But, Once again, there is an element to fasting where you are removing that is otherwise something normal in your diet. e.g., Fast one meal a day for 14 days

4.SOUL FAST

This is a good option if you have health concerns that prevent you from doing a full or partial fast. An example might be eliminating all media (social media, TV, music, podcasts, Facebook, WhatsApp etc.), for the duration of the fast. Fast from social media for the entire 14 days. Or even better Fast from a hobby that can be time-consuming and spend that time in prayer with God
