Proverbs 24:33–34: “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”
As Christians, have, we allowed the spirit of sleep to take over our lives? If so, we should wake up before we are destroyed by the devil. Remember, the devil never sleeps at all; instead, when we sleep, it’s when he starts to work on us. God as well as the devil are interested in our spiritual alertness. When you are spiritually asleep, you might miss what is happening in the spirit realm. Even if you are educated but you are asleep, you will suffer a lot until you wake up.
In case there is a voice that is telling you that you don’t have to fast for long, those who fast for long will have ulcers. That voice is louder than the voice of God. That voice is telling you that you should die.
Beware of any voice that is telling you that a little bit of unrighteousness will not spoil your faith, that is the destructive voice of the devil and his agents.
If there is anything God will have to show you, you have to communicate with your spirit. That is why God is shouting to all of us today, ‘Church, wake up’; brothers, wake up; sisters, wake up. Mighty men and women of God who used to roar and thunder with unction and anointing of God are now too busy doing other things. Most of them have gotten too fat and lazy, have no word from God, and have no fresh unction! Their lamp is going out! They are asleep!
Brethren who once were on fire for God, full of love and joy in Jesus, once looking for His return-are now drifting, cold, and full of doubt and fear. They are half asleep, but will soon fall into a deep sleep! They once had the glory of God, the power of the Holy Ghost. But now, their lamps are dim and dying! They now have adultery in their hearts; they play hard; they eat and drink; they act religious, but their hearts now grow cold and hardness is setting in.
I’ve seen Christians who are living under that deep sleep from the Lord. Their favorite expression is, “I don’t see it! I just don’t understand! I’m not convicted! I don’t feel anything.” They are empty; they have no zeal, no fire, no commitment! They coast along! They are drifting with the spirit of this wicked age. Brethren let us raise and pray like never before:

1. Start by praising God and worshiping him with songs, and even dancing.
2. Repent of every known and unknown sin. Confess your sins one by one Mention them by name, especially sexual sins such as sex outside marriage, abortion, worship of idols, and other forms of bloodshed, family altars. Ask GOD to forgive you those sins one by one. Believe that the LORD has forgiven you, as He has promised in His Word. Please note that the Holy Spirit will remind you of un repented sins. You need to repent of them all if you REALLY want to see positive results.
3. Confess out LOUD the Scriptures promising deliverance from the Spirit of Sleep (Slumber).Such as Isaiah 52:1; Ephesians 5:14; and Romans 13:11.

4.O, Lord, I come before you seeking your divine protection and guidance as to how to overcome this spirit of sleep that is trying to attack me, in Jesus name.
5. After the order of Acts 9:18, I command every spiritual scale used by the enemy to cover my spiritual eyes to be removed by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
6. I demolish and crush every spirit of slumber and dumbness, your time is over in my life, be paralyzed in Jesus’ name.
7. I command the light of God to shine into my life and remove every spiritual darkness in life to see clearly the things of God., in Jesus’ name.
8. In the mighty name of Jesus, I command all arrows of evil sleep shot at me to go back to the send now.
9. My Father! My Father! Let the Holy Ghost, destroy every power from my foundation that has put me in spiritual darkness, leading to my spiritual slumber in Jesus’ name.
10. O Lord, separate me from every association that is making me backslide into spiritual slumber, in Jesus name.
11. I command every demonic spirit attacking my prayer altar, your time is over, in Jesus’ name.
12. In the mighty name of Jesus, I command every evil altar of darkness that is supposing these spirits of sleep to catch fire now.
13. In the mighty name of Jesus, I rebuke the Spirit of Sleep and any other evil forces of darkness that may be at work in my life.
14. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I receive the strength to wake up from the spiritual slumber, the devil put me into, in Jesus’ name
15. My Father! My Father! destroy every evil seed sown into my life while I was sleeping, by fire in Jesus’ name.
16. In the mighty name of Jesus, I decree and declare destruction of all the plans of the enemy to try and steal from me while under the spirit of slumber.
17. My Father! My Father! promote me from the level of ordinary intercessor to a prophetic intercessor in Jesus’ name
18. Let the blood of Jesus wash me clean from every evil deposit that has been introduced into my life by spirits of slumber, in Jesus name
19. I reject every form of spiritual laziness leading spiritual slumber in my life in Jesus’ name
20. O Lord, reawaken in me the zeal to continually be in your presence, in Jesus name.
21. I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over my sleep and I ask for your angels to surround me and guard me against any spiritual attacks or disturbances. Fill me with your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding my heart and mind in Jesus name.
22. By the power in the name of Jesus, I renounce any agreement I have made with the spirit of slumber, and I break every generational curse or spiritual stronghold that may be contributing to its influence in my life, in Jesus name.
23. O Lord, I surrender my sleep into your hands, trusting in your promise to give your beloved rest. Shield me, Lord, as I sleep, surrounding me with your divine protection and driving away any spiritual forces that seek to disrupt my rest.
24. O Lord, deliver me from spiritual blindness and slumbering spirit, in Jesus name.
25. Spent some time thanking God for helping you overcome the spirit of sleep this year.
