What Is A Covenant?

In layman’s terms, a covenant is a promise between two or more parties to perform certain actions which is usually sealed with a signature, an oath, or the blood of an animal, bird, or human being. 

The biblical words most often translated as “covenant” are berit [tyir.B] in the Old Testament (appearing about 280 times) and diatheke [diaqhvkh] in the New Testament (appearing at least 33 times). But let us now talk about blood covenants

A blood covenant is a covenant whereby you mingle the blood of two people or a person and a bird, or an animal.

Leviticus 17:11 says “for the life of a creature is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is in the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul” The power of blood can turn things around. I know most of us don’t know what our fathers did to us when we were born.

Brethren remember having any form of sexual contact results in a blood covenant, when you enter into sexual intercourse with a person that you are not legally married to, you have entered into a blood covenant, in which the person’s problems are transferred to you and such problems can’ stop you from progressing well in life. Maybe that is the reason why most Christians are still suffering and in bondage. When you read Deuteronomy 23:2, Matthew 5:27-30 and 1 Corinthians 10:8., you see how God hates these sexual covenants.
