God’s Moment: We Were surprisingly Born To Live It Now

Listen to this article

According to Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Many of us are living outside of God’s moment. remember that according to Psalms 139:16,” … all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” So you can see that if you are living in your own so-called ‘happy moment’ then you are running your own thing and not what God had in mind.

No wonder nowadays you see that so many so-called celebrities, by worldly standards, are dying so young and sometimes even unfulfilled. It is because they are living outside of God’s moment. Brethren, I want to ask you whether you are living according to God’s standard and in God’s moment. Always remember what 1 Corinthians 8:3 says: “…But whoever loves God is known by God.” So, if you are known by God, God will guard your path to ensure that you are in His moments (God’s moment which we will focus on) (Psalms 1:6).

Yes, now you might be going through a rough patch in your life that is rubbing you in the wrong place. But remember that the Lord is still watching over your life and has a good plan for you. Don’t worry, no matter what, help is on the way.

God's moment
God’s moment is everything

Do you remember the story of Esther in the Bible? According to Esther 4:13–16, Esther and her people were supposed to be destroyed according to the King’s decree, but because they were walking according to God’s moment, then help and deliverance came to them God’s way. So, stop worrying and start living according to God’s moment.

Yes, you might be down by now, but your God is not. Yes, things might not be working, but your God is still working, so quit thinking that you are all alone because God is by your side, rearranging things, circumstances, and moments to place you where you belong. Make the best of God’s moment, and you will come out on the other side a better person. never give up because God has never given up on you.

The story of two eagles which represents God’s moment.

A story is told about a very wealthy man who used to collect antiques and other rare items. So, one day, a hunter found in the deep forest two baby eaglets, and so he caught them and brought them to this wealthy man, who immediately bought them for a very high price. So, after this wealthy man bought them, he employed a very experienced person in bird behaviour to take care of these eaglets.

So, after some time, the wealthy man noticed that the two eaglets had grown, and by now they used to patch on top of a branch near his house. So, this wealthy man used to go and watch them as they patched on top of this tree, and that made him very happy. Then suddenly one day he went to watch these two eaglets only to find that one was missing, so he called the caretaker and asked for the whereabouts of the other eaglet, but to his surprise, he was told that it had taken off to the sky earlier that morning and was doing well up there.

one God’s moment is all you need

So, then he asked the caretaker why the other did not do the same and the caretaker didn’t know why. So this made the wealthy man very angry and as a result, he fired the caretaker and readvertised his position in a bind to get a more qualified person who would make that eaglet fly just like the other one.

So after many days of searching for a good replacement for this caretaker, an old farmer came and offered to take that job and ensure that the eaglet immediately flew just like the other one. So out of desperation, this wealthy man hired him, and within minutes, the eaglet had taken to the sky. So, this wealthy man wanted to know how he did it, and the old farmer said I just cut the branch where this eaglet used to sit, and because there was nowhere to sit, the eaglet had no choice but to fly like the other eaglet.

Did you know that a fish will start dying if you take it out of the water? So is the case with most of us; we are just out of God’s moment, and hence we are dying as a result. Others are too lazy or too scared, like the eaglet, to take to the sky. Just like there is no place for a fish out of the water, and even worse, there is no place for an eagle anywhere else except in the sky.

Did you know that chickens are eagles that are too lazy or too scared to take to the sky with the other eagles that is why those eagles attack them every time, reminding them that this is not where they belong and saying to them come join us and fly.

Did you know that, just like that old wise farmer, you need to identify which branch of your life has kept you from God’s moments and just cut it and soon you will join others in enjoying God’s moments? A branch can symbolize anything and everything that promises less than what God intended you to be. It could be that job that promises you much but delivers nothing other than misery. It could also be fear of the unknown, fear of failing, self-doubt, etc.

Let me tell you that true growth happens when you cut off your so-called branches and venture into the unknown and unfamiliar territory, far beyond what your mind has ever thought, to a land called “What no one ever saw or heard, what no one ever thought could happen, is the very thing God prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

If you are seated under a branch, you will never see and enjoy the sky above you because it is covered by the tree, so cut down your branch and you will see the sky and its endless possibilities.

When you are trying to live in God’s moment there are times when God will ask you to do difficult things. Can God accomplish His plans without you? Yes. But He asks you to participate in His plans because it strengthens your faith.

We may face uncertainty, failure, fear, and suffering as we try to fulfill God’s plans for our lives. But God is with us every step of the way. He is working all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). God has a plan for your life.

It’s a challenge to make the most of every moment, and every opportunity we have because sometimes we make wrong choices but then again other times, we make the right choice. We see throughout the bible many people who were faced with a tough decision to either stay in or stay out God’s moment or not.

For instance, David and Goliath, Noah and the Ark, Moses leading God’s people out of Egypt, Joshua and Jericho, the boy with the small lunch that Jesus used to feed the 5000, the woman with the bottle of perfume that anointed Jesus, the woman at the well and the revival that swept the town. The tax collector who climbed a tree to see better and caught the attention of Jesus. We can say these Godly moments were the defining moments of these people.

You too Can Make A Difference in the World. But, you can’t make a difference in the world until you first make a difference in yours.

You were also created for just this moment. You may not know what moment that is, but God knows, and we must trust Him and serve Him to the best of our abilities every moment of every day. Where will you be, what will you be doing at your “such a time as this”? Will you be faithful? Will you be ready?

You Were Created for Just this Moment and that is God’s moment.

Pastor Nathaniel.
