Brethren, have you ever watched fishermen, and marvelled at their patience in waiting for the fish to bite? Having patience means being able to wait calmly for something – the fish to bite; for traffic to clear; for a test result; for an answer to an important question; for a young child to finish a task; for… something from your life journey that requires you to wait calmly or to accept some type of delay. Afterall good things come to those who wait. “Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised” Hebrews 6:15

Patience is necessary since one cannot reap immediately where he has sown. But with our fast-paced world that emphasizes that things happen instantaneously (high-speed internet, ‘instant’ foods, drive-through windows at restaurants and banks, same-day delivery, etc.) tests our endurance daily. Remember, patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. So, in the end, patience tends to bring out the best in us. (Romans 8:25)

Patience is the key which solves all our daily problems, especially more important when dealing with any type of change. Without it, we would be constantly annoyed, frustrated, angry, or upset. Without it, we would give up too soon or quit something altogether. So, it is the key to winning any battle. Without it, it would be easy to get stuck and not move forward at all. This week, let’s explore this vital quality that seems to get tested in our today’s society.

When it comes to patience, we tend to take more time to assess a situation, looking at all sides before taking action. This leads us not to act in haste hence we end up with better results. Must times we operate at our best when we are not stressed. It teaches us tolerance and tolerance helps us become more empathetic to what is happening around us. So Brethren BE PATIENT, when it seems, things are not going right and may never be right again.

Accept that what is yours will come to you in the right way at just the right moment. Always remember let this Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.

Pastor Nathaniel.
