THE CROSS A WAY TO HEAVEN
Brethren, the cross is God’s way of taking away all of our accusations, excuses, and arguments. The cross is God taking on flesh and blood and saying, “Me too.” Before we can begin to see the cross as something done for us, we have to see it as something done by us. “The cross provides all that it won. But the problem with many Christians is that yes, they are carrying the right cross i.e. Having a form of Godliness yes denying Christ by their actions, (2Tim.3:5) that means they are going the wrong way.
The cross by itself is light but if you add some extra weight and burdens of sin, then your spiritual journey becomes something else. According to Ecclesiastes 7:29” God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated”. So, brethren examine yourself and see what is making your cross heavy. Is it your friends, habits, secret sins?
We all have a cross to carry. I have to carry my own cross. If we don’t carry our crosses, we are going to be crushed under the weight of it. Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.’” Luke 9:23.
To “take up your cross” is something that has to take place in your mind brethren. When thoughts that aren’t pleasing to God come to your mind during the day, you “put them to death” on the inner “cross.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
The cross is your support to lean on when you are tired, so don’t run away from it instead run to it for safety because it’s your only connection with heaven.
