Cleansing prayers go far back in time to the time of Abram, Moses, and even Jesus. During those days it was a must to wash your feet before you enter someone’s house, or even the temple itself. We see this in the case of Abram where he requested his visitors to wash their feet in the Books of Genesis 18:4.
In the Book of Exodus 3:5, Moses was ordered by God to Remove his shoes for that place was holy. God was trying to remind Moses that man by himself with all the works and prayers he can’t attain the required heavenly righteousness. So, he needed God to clean him, that is why we see in Isaiah 1:18 that God calls us to come to him so that he can clean us of our sins.
We also see many other instances in the Bible of spiritual cleansing of some sort:
Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Psalm 51:2 “Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”
Psalm 51:7 “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”
Leviticus 16:30 “Because on this day of atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you.”
We can trace most of our problems today to the faulty and evil ancestral backgrounds. It takes spiritual cleansing to be free from such challenges.
It is important to know that this type of spiritual cleansing is not the one that an individual does by going to bathe or wash from a river as many teach. You need the cleansing blood of Jesus
Cleansing prayers also reveal our need for a Saviour. They remind us that we have a creator God and redeeming God. With these prayers, we are asking God to forgive us. You are bringing your past to the feet of Jesus. The ultimate end to cleansing prayer is that you leave all that dirt and filth of sin at the foot of the cross. You do not pick it up and carry it back with you.
Let us pray these spiritual cleansing prayers now:
1. Father in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour, I come before you on my behalf and on behalf of my loved ones, my family, and relatives. I confess and repent every sin, every iniquity, every transgression, every fault, every unrighteousness and ungodliness. O Lord forgive us and accept us back into your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
2. My Father! My Father! Send your warring angels to the land of the living and dead to dismantle any altars, covenants and any other works of darkness working against my life and destiny, in Jesus name.
3. By the blood of Jesus I wash myself from any known and unknown sins and from today I will walk in the path of righteousness, in Jesus’ name.
4. By the power in the Blood of Jesus cleanse me clean and raise me to be seated far above every principality, rulers of darkness, and demonic agents, in Jesus name.
5. O Lord cleanse me in every way you deem fit, O Lord break me, remold me, refill with the Holy Spirit and then use me for the glory of your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
6. By the power in the Blood of Jesus cleanse all my generations up to the 10th generation of any form of Witcraft, sins of adultery, ancestral worship, murder, etc, and make me acceptable to the service of your Kingdom.
7. My Father! My Father! Send a seraphim angel with coal of fire after the order of Isaiah 6:6-7,to come and touch my lips so that only words of blessing and not cursing shall come out of my lips, in Jesus’ name.
8. By the cleansing power in the Blood of Jesus cleanse my heart of stone which doesn’t have love and compasion and make it a heart of flesh that loves and cares for the matter of the Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
9. By the cleansing power in the Blood of Jesus, I seal, soak, immerse, and cover my body, soul, and spirit in the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
10. By the power in the Blood of Jesus I cancel every demonic verdict written & pronounced against my name, my family, my home, my ministry, & my businesses in Jesus’ name.
11. By the power in the Blood of Jesus let it cleanse me and break the root of unforgiveness from my life, from today I forgive, release and forget those who have wronged me in Jesus’ name.
12. I wash my blood system with the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus. Hence I flush every demonic poison out of my blood system in Jesus’ name.
13. O Lord, I stand on the pillars of God’s word and in the authority of His anointing and I command a flow of God’s power to be released into my life, home, family, finances, ministry, dreams, and visions, in Jesus name.
14. By the cleansing power in the Blood of Jesus I break the chains of death off of my seed, dreams and visions. I call to resurrection every God-given dream & vision in my life that the devil tried to kill, in Jesus name.
15. I seal all these prayers in the blood of Jesus, and I boldly declare that my eyes will see a manifestation of God’s power working on my behalf, in Jesus’ name.
