What Do You Mean By Ancestral Rituals?
Ancestral Rituals refers to spiritual, cultural, or family practices that involve honoring, consulting, appeasing, or making covenants with ancestors, spirits, idols, or powers connected to a bloodline rather than to God. These rituals may be traditional ceremonies, sacrifices, chants, offerings, grave rituals, initiation rites, or practices meant to gain protection, blessing, healing, favor, success, rain or even guidance from ancestral spirits. When Christ becomes your foundation, fear of ancestral powers begins to fade. You are not trapped by your family history when you belong to Christ.
According to Deuteronomy 18:10–12, the bible reminds us that we should not participate in rituals that try to communicate with ancestors spiritually. Some ancestral rituals involve:
- pouring alcohol to ancestors
- animal sacrifices
- speaking to graves
- invoking family spirits
- ritual ceremonies
The Bible warns that sacrifices offered to spirits are not harmless spiritually. “The things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:20. Therefore we should separate themselves from spiritual practices connected to other spiritual powers.
Brethren we should draw a clear distinguish between cultural respect and remembrance and spiritual rituals involving invocation of spirits. For instance, attending a funeral is not evil, cleaning a grave is not automatically evil and even remembering grandparents is not sinful. But the problem comes when rituals involve praying to ancestors, seeking spiritual power from the dead, making covenants or offerings to spirits and doing fear-based rituals that replace trust in God.
When in need call unto the Lord and he will answer according to Jeremiah 33:3. No ancestral practice should take the place of prayer, faith, and obedience to God. The cross of Christ is greater than every ancestral covenant and it breaks cycles that families thought could never change. True spiritual protection comes from God, not from rituals performed in fear.
Let’s Pray.
- Heavenly Father, I repent for every ancestral ritual, covenant, dedication, andungodly practice connected to my bloodline, in Jesus name.
2. Holy Ghost fire, consume every evil object, token, or spiritual link that is connected to my lineage, in Jesus name.
3. Let every ancestral ritual affecting my health, marriage, finances, and spiritual life, be broken by the fire of the Holy Ghost.
4. Let the power in the blood of Jesus, disconnect and release me from every hidden bondage inherited from my ancestors, in Jesus name.
5. In the mighty name of Jesus, I cancel every demonic dedication done over my life knowingly or unknowingly by people with spiritual authority over me.
6. Heavenly Father, let every ancestral ritual working against my destiny be overturned by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
7.Let the power in the blood of Jesus, erase every evil spiritual mark from these ancestral rituals, in Jesus name.
8. Let every evil initiation through dreams, rituals, or ceremonies, that brought inherited afflictions and spiritual oppression be reversed by fire, in Jesus name.
9. Holy Ghost fire, purge my life from every spiritual contamination caused by ancestral spirit that are monitoring my life, in Jesus name.
10. Let every evil covenant made with blood sacrifices of animals, bird and even human beings in my lineage that is causing spiritual contamination in my life be broken, in Jesus name.
11. Heaven Father, restore everything the enemy stole through ancestral bondage in form of the spirit of limitation, failure, addiction, poverty, and even fear, in Jesus name.
12. Let every evil family pattern that is assigned to repeat itself in my life, broken right now in Jesus’ name.
13. Let every evil spirit that is assigned to enforce ancestral bondage in my life, through doing certain ancestral practices depart now, in Jesus name.
14. In the mighty name of Jesus, I command every demonic chain tying me to ancestral bondage to catch fire.
15. In the mighty name of Jesus, I command every ancestral spirit demanding worship or allegiance from my life fall down and die.
16. Heavenly Father, send Your angels to break down every prison gate built by ancestral rituals, in Jesus name.
17.Let every ancestral power resisting my prayers, be scattered in Jesus’ name.
18. Holy Spirit, establish righteousness and holiness in my foundation. I refuse to continue in cycles that do not glorify God.
19.Let every satanic legal ground operating through ancestral rituals be removed by the blood of Jesus.
20. Thank You, Father, for complete deliverance, restoration, and freedom through Jesus Christ.
Every believer must choose whether tradition or truth will lead their life. Remember that God’s Spirit leads believers into freedom, wisdom, and truth. A ritual cannot save the soul; only Christ can. The blood of Jesus speaks louder than every negative ancestral voice. Where Christ is Lord, fear-driven rituals lose their power.
