Covid-19 is confusing and frightening for the unsaved masses, but “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world”- John 9:5.So that is why me and you should be a beckon of hope at a time like this. So, what are you doing so far about Covid-19? As Christians lets resist panic, After all what is happening in the world has not caught God by surprise. God is bigger than the coronavirus! And any other plaque combined.
No matter how frustrating, confusing, or scary this crisis gets, fear doesn’t have the final word. This is not to say there is no reason to be concerned, or that we should ignore the sound advice of our medical doctors and public health experts. But panic and fear are not from God. Calm and hope are. Remember that our God is a ‘refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble’. (Psalm 46:1).
The Bible reminds us to “Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.
2 Timothy 4:2. So brethren every crisis in the world is an opportunity to share God’s love and message of hope with desperate people. That’s why, as MTM Family, we want to respond to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis, not by panicking or just hiding out of fear, but by serving the people who are most vulnerable.
Remember daily to pray for all those who have been infected, those who will be, and for their families. Pray for wisdom, guidance, and protection for our national and local leaders as they seek to fulfil their responsibilities in protecting the people. Brethren during this Covid-19 period, as MTM Family, we must always remember the Lord Jesus’ command us “to do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Luke 6:31).
God is more powerful than Covid-19
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, “Don’t worry about anything and pray about everything! “Yes, you might have been a victim of cancelled events, postponed trips, and accommodating plans. We all agree cancellations are frustrating. But while we all agree on this, let us also realize this important thing that When everything else is cancelled, there is one Person who never cancels on us-JESUS .
When everyone else says, “Our doors are closed.” God says, “My arms are open wide. “No wonder When the health department says, “Practice social distancing.” Jesus says, “Come to me.”- Matthew 11:28. Many things have been cancelled because of the Convid-19. Love is not one of them.
Maybe God will put someone who had or has Covid-19 in your life and after this experience, you will be able to identify with their fears a little better. Remember our God will never leave us because He loved us enough to send his son to die for us. This too shall pass, so let’s tell ourselves (and our kids), that germs don’t win. God does. According to Deuteronomy 7:15“The LORD will remove all sickness from you; He will not put on you all the terrible diseases of Egypt that you know about, but He will inflict them on all who hate you”.
Resist the temptation to demonize, which increases in time of stress and shortages. Covid-19 is no one’s “fault.” Likewise, the people who become infected are not to blame. Remember that Jesus was asked about a blind man: “Who sinned, that this man was born blind?” Jesus’ response: “No one” (John 9:2). Illness (like covid-19) is not a punishment. So don’t demonize and don’t hate those who are sick.
So “Do not be afraid!” as Jesus said many times Also we here this in other parts of the Bible”The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”-Deuteronomy 31:8
