Introduction To Persistence
Brethren, DON’T GIVE up! You need persistence because when things get tough or scary or overwhelming there may be the desire to just quit or give up. Avoid acting on that desire and Focus (which is to Follow One Course Until Success), use your inner resolve, keep going and persist. Remember that difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations (Romans 5:3-5).
I know things have not been the same due to changing times but remember we are winners and winners never quit no matter what. We have moved outside of our comfort zones to what was once the unknown and frightening becoming our new normal. Brethren, with God all things are possible as stated in Luke 1:37.
Doing nothing gets you nothing. So, take action and do something, it is important to keep moving forward so that you make something happen. Taking action keeps you in control, instead of letting the events taking place around you dictate what will happen to you.
It is persistence that keeps us going on no matter what we may be facing or how we feel about the current situation. We all are facing situations where we feel like giving up; due to the sudden, unexpected, or unwanted effects of those situations. Persistence is the Key that will open any door that has been closed by resistance.
When we get overwhelmed by what is happening as a result of being forced out of our comfort zones, it is easy for us to just give in or give up. Neither of those is an option when change is upon us and neither of those helps us in dealing with what we are facing. It is our ability to keep moving forward, to persist even in the face of adversity that will help us continually move forward (2 Corinthians 4:8-12).
Brethren, I know being persistent is not easy and quick especially when you have failed multiple times. But still we must be persistent. We must be determined, focused, and motivated to keep on doing our best no matter what is going on. Total commitment to the purpose is needed. We need mental toughness which makes us find fuel in an empty tank to move us closer to our goals.
Remember always, In the confrontation between the river and the rock trying to stop the river, the river always wins. Not through strength, but through persistence. We don’t win because we are stronger or more intelligent but because he who is in us is greater than all the problems of the world combined (1 John 4:4).
Remember that sometimes you fall down because there is something down there you are supposed to find it could be a blessing with your name like Joseph in the bible had to be sold and imprisoned so as to move from prison to palace (Genesis 45:4-6). You must keep things in perspective. Look at the whole situation not just at what is currently happening. Always keep the big picture in mind.
This week gather yourself together and shake off all the bad habits and things that have posed a threat to your progress
after all, you want good things in life, and they grow on the tree of persistence so go and have them.
What Are Some Of The Reasons Why We Need Persistence?
There are so many benefits of persistence but I will just highlight a few below:
- When you practice something long enough you become a master due to persistence because after all practice makes perfect.
2. It’s a sign of ambition, and no wonder most rich people are those who persevere to the end of a project.
3. You end up setting a good example for your friends and children to follow, when faced with a simple challenge. They won’t be willing to give up easily.
4. Persistence teaches us valuable lessons when it comes to success. It teaches us that no one can become successful overnight.
5. Through persistence we end up learning both our weaknessess and our strengths and as a result we learn how to work around them.
6. As a result of the lessons learned through persistence we learn that easy come easy go. Yes harder tasks might require hard work and persistence but its rewarding in the end.
7. As a result of persistence no one can limit you. You’ll seek solutions to overcome your challenges and keep moving forward to build a life that satisfies you.
What Are Some Ways You Can Use To Help You Develop Persistence?
- Make sure that you know your desires very well.
2. Know very well why you are doing what you want to do.
3. Begin first by setting definite action steps.
4. No matter what keep a positive mental attitude despite the challenges you encounter.
5. Stay away from anyone or anything that will drown your dream.
6. Lastly but not the least uphold good morals, habits and discipline.
The journey is not over its just getting started.
