Brethren, I know that life does challenge us at times with things like losses of loved ones, relationships, jobs, homes…, illnesses, or tough choices. But our ability to rise above anything that comes our way rest on us, through adjusting and adapting to what we are facing. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us” Romans 8:18.
Rise Above Your Problems.
Most people, find it hard to “rise above” to life’s challenging moments. Instead they feel it’s easier to shy away and not have to deal with anything. Something terrible might happen to you, and yet, the day after this terrible event, the sun will still rise above, and life goes on. So, we must never give up, instead we should rise above anything life throw at us. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”.
Life knocks us all down sometimes and can get the best of us. we’ve all experienced more than our fair share of hardships.
However, just because we get knocked down doesn’t mean we have to stay down. It’s important to take the time to let it hurt and then let it go. We have to brush ourselves off and get back up and fight the good fight as Paul said in 1 Timothy 6:12. I know — easier said than done, right? Just remember that no matter what life throws your way, you are strong and you can handle it. Focus on good things and words of wisdom you have received from the Church to get your mind on the right track, and get you back into a fighting mode. Remember the comeback is always greater than the setback.
Since most of us have difficulty with rising above anything life throws at us, let’s take some time this week to look at some things we can do to help us move forward (rise above). We can:
By believing that we can overcome whatever life threw at us half the battle is won. Once you have faith, you have nothing to fear- Hebrews 11:1. fear turn attention away from solutions and keep the attention on the issue. Remember winners don’t quit; they rise above to meet the challenge head on. So, think like a winner.
I know that life is tough brethren, but so are you. So, never give up, give in, or lose hope. We all have something inside of us that is greater than any challenge we may encounter on our life journey. According to 1 John 4:4 “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world”.
Even though things may be tough right now, look beyond and notice what is good. Once a Wiseman said, “Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.” The sunshine is our positive outlook; the shadows are whatever we are facing.
Success is not made by what life hands you but by what you do with what life hands you. Setbacks are actually building blocks in disguise. A good character is built after a lot of struggle. We are often proud of the moments in our life where we were able to defeat the difficult situations to gain something that is very valuable to us. Try, and do something that makes you go beyond your limits.
Trust me, the experience alone is worth it! Nothing in this world will be as motivating to you when you know that you are capable of going beyond what you have imagined. According to Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”.
Talking to others will help put or keep things in perspective. Other people may have similar experiences and may be able to share how they dealt with the issue. Seek expert help when the issue seems insurmountable and the desire to give up is strong.
You need to know that these obstacles are going to happen, life is going to throw these things at you and it’s how you deal with them, and how you can take a positive spin on them that can make all the difference. Having that positive attitude knowing that they’re going to happen, and being creative in ways of getting around them is what it’s all about
Rising above anything life throws at us means we elevate ourselves; we go beyond ourselves and we lift ourselves over what initially seems to be an obstacle. Maya Angelou (American poet and civil rights activist) tells us, “No sun outlasts its sunset but will rise above again and bring the dawn.” And so it is with us. Nothing life throws at us can outlast our determination, our will, our desire to move forward. We can operate at a “higher frequency.” We have the power in us to create opportunities and pathways to move beyond.
Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again. I think the things you regret most in life are the things you didn’t do. if you give up at the first obstacle, you will never know what you could have become. Therefore, rise above because you never know you could have been the next…
