What Do You Mean By Poverty Cycle?

The Poverty cycle (also called the cycle of poverty) refers to a recurring pattern where individuals, families, or even communities remain trapped in poverty across several generations due to a combination of spiritual, mental, emotional, economic, and social factors. This cycle not only affects material well-being but also impacts a person’s faith, hope, and ability to fulfill God’s purpose. Understanding these causes through a biblical lens can help us in breaking free from the cycle.

60 Main Causes Of Poverty Cycle:

  1. Recurring debts or always borrowing (Deuteronomy 28:44) chronic lack of savings or financial foundation can result to you living in financial bondage (Proverbs 21:20).
  2. Family-wide poverty history: no one in your lineage ever rose beyond survival mode(Deuteronomy 28:29). You find that most of your family members have no house or land or anything of great value– no real estate or ownership in the bloodline. Even your parents and your ancestors died poor despite they hadpotential to get wealth meaning their spiritual inheritance was stolen.
  3. Strange spiritual attacks immediately occur when you get money in your hands. You start to experience sudden losses and even strange expenses after your financial breakthroughs things like sickness, emergencies, or theft (Job 1:13-19).
  4. Negative financial patterns in the family history (Exodus 20:5). For instance if their are unaddressed evil foundations(Psalm 11:3) in form of generational curse,unbroken altars or vows linked to poverty (Judges 6:25-26), Family curses openly spoken by elders declaring things like “no one prospers here.” working against the prosperity of the family .
  5. Household wickedness hindering financial breakthroughs (Micah 7:6). if their is an atmosphere of strife or rebellion in the home it can lead to this according to James 3:16.

6. Lack of thanksgiving after divine provision (Luke 17:17-18). This hapens when one depends more on men rather than God as their source (Jeremiah 17:5-6).

7. Frequent emergency expenses that drain income (Joel 1:4) leading to a constant financial struggle despite the hard work (Haggai 1:6).

8. Living in or being connected to a cursed lands or properties (2 Kings 2:19-21). Remember also if you have cursed items or properties in your home it can lead to this(Joshua 7:10-13).

9. Repeated financial downfall in every generation whereby wealth appears and disappears cyclically .For instance repeated job losses or business failures (Ecclesiastes 5:14).

10. Incase you received a strange gift that brought with it financial setbacks due to it was a cursed objects.

16. Your spiritual growth seems tied to your poverty – every time you pursue God seriously, financial problems increase.

17. You feel an invisible hands taking your money – unexplained physical experiences of loss in your body. You sense that someone is sitting on your finances spiritually – a knowing that your wealth is hijacked.

18. Money often vanishes from your bank account or wallet mysteriously – unexplainable financial loss.

19. Consistently choosing shortcuts over godly process (Proverbs 28:20).

20. Evil birds flying or crying near your house – monitoring spirits resisting prosperity from coming to you and your famliy.
