Proven Ways God Offers Divine Direction.

Listen to this article

When a child is still young it needs its parent’s direction to navigate through this dangerous world. The same is the case with a newborn again who doesn’t know the difference between a demonic manifestation and the move of the Holy Ghost.  Have you ever missed an opportunity only to find out that all you needed is a little bit of divine direction?

Without direction we would be lost in the sea of life and so is the case without divine direction we would easily miss heaven and its provisions. According to Isaiah 30:21 “ thine ears shall hear a word”…. This is the way, walk in it”.So it’s very clear if we follow God’s direction, victory is assured. Don’t argue with the Spirit of God. After all, God knows the beginning from the end(Isaiah 46:10).

According to Proverbs 16:25,There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to death. The same is applicable in marriage; a person may appear attractive today, with beauty, strength, income, connections, and a family name, for example. Only God knows what tomorrow holds, and only God knows whether or not the individual is a good match for you. Many people wrecked their lives and destinies because they rely on the looks and appearances of people in front of them, such as business prospects, job offers, ministry locations, type of ministry, location, career, friends, and so on.

According to  1 Samuel 16:7, always remember that “… The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

There may be an opportunity presenting itself right now that ticks all the ‘right’ boxes and looks good, but God can see the end right now, and He is able to give you the direction on what to do about that opportunity.

Examples of divine direction

God provides guidance in a variety of areas and in a variety of ways. Here are some examples of divine direction.

1. God guides His children in the right direction.

Exodus 13:17

When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, “Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.” (ESV)

God gives instructions on how to get to a given location or attain a specific goal. When God directs your path, you can rest assured that you will arrive at your objective. God knows the best path for you to follow in order to achieve your goals.

2. God guides His children in terms of seasons and timing.

God can direct you on what is the right time to take any given step in life concerning your business or career.

In Genesis 26: 1 – 6 When there was a famine in the area, God advised Isaac to stay in that land for a while rather than going to Egypt. God then blessed him, and he rose to prominence in that location (and time).

Genesis 26: 2 – 3

The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. 3 Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham (NIV).

Jesus told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father.

Acts 1: 4 – 5

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (NKJV)

3. For Business And Other Purposes, God Provides Divine Ideas

God is the one who created everything. He is creative and all-knowing, and He can show you how to flourish by advising you on what business to start, what professional path to take, and even revealing an innovation or business concept to you.

An example is Abraham. He dug wells (Genesis 26: 18 – 22), and used irrigation systems for his livestock farming. Jacob received a divine idea that led to great wealth transfer (Genesis 30: 25 – 43).

God gave Moses specific instructions on how to build the tabernacle (Exodus 25:40).

4. God Issues Divine Instructions On How To Solve Specific Problems

God commanded Joshua in Joshua Chapter 6 to accompany the Israelites on a journey to the Promised Land, but one of the cities they had to pass through, Jericho, was securely shut and had strong walls. As a result, God provided them explicit instructions on how to take the city and pass through in order to claim their inheritance (Joshua 6: 1 – 5).

In 2 Chronicles 20 God gave specific instructions that led to victory over the enemy.

We witness Moses and the Israelites traveling through the wilderness in Exodus 15: 22–25, and they came to an oasis, but the water was too bitter to drink. Moses cried out to God, and God responded by showing him a piece of wood. The wood that Moses dropped into the water cured it and made it safe to drink. You can draw similarities with your own life today; if something is causing you bitterness or a deficiency of any kind, you can ask God to reveal what you should do.

How To Obtain Divine Direction

1. You Must Become A God’s Child

You must become a child of God in order to receive spiritual guidance. This is the initial step towards receiving heavenly guidance. By submitting your life to Jesus, you become a child of God and are reborn. Only God’s children are led by Him.

The Bible says in Romans 8: 14 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (NIV).

If you haven’t yet become a child of God by giving your life to Jesus and made Him Lord of your life, you can do so right now by praying the Salvation Prayer aloud (mean it from your heart).

2. Seek divine guidance from God.

When you are a child of God, you have the ability to ask God for whatever you want, including divine direction.

Matthew 7: 7 – 11

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (NIV)

The Lord also says in Jeremiah 33 verse 3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” To receive anything from God you need to ask in faith.

James 1: 5 – 7

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. (NIV)

3. Be meek, humble, and open to receiving God’s instructions.
The Bible says in Psalm 25:9 (NKJV)

The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.

You must be humble and willing to accept God’s direction in order to receive guidance from Him.

4. Devote Time to Worship

As you worship God in the privacy of your house or anywhere you can worship and connect with Him, God will speak to you and offer you divine direction. You have the option of worshiping God for hours at a time, admiring the beauty of His holiness and the splendor of His grandeur. The Holy Spirit will communicate with you and reveal God’s will.

When you get to a point when all you do for hours is hoist God up and exalt His Holy Name, He notices you and comes to commune with you, answering your questions.

The Lord says in Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.: (KJV)

5. Use Tongues to Pray

God uses visions to communicate with his children and provide heavenly guidance. Prayer in the spirit (praying in tongues) for hours at a time is one approach to obtain visions. When you receive the Holy Spirit’s baptism, you will experience the evidence of speaking in tongues. If you would like God to reveal things to you, find a quiet place and fellowship with God, and ask God to reveal those things. Then pray in tongues for hours while asking God in your heart to reveal the issues to you.

Tell the Holy Spirit, “Holy Spirit, I yield my mouth, tongue, and spirit to you, come and assist me pray for…………..,” and then pray in tongues for as long as you can. It takes six hours of praying in tongues for your vision to open for you to see into the realm of the spirit, according to a minister (most likely Oral Roberts). When this occurs, you will receive the heavenly guidance you seek.

6. Develop a closer relationship with God and obey His Word

God always speaks through His Word. You can always start there as a child of God to hear God’s voice and directives.

Jeremiah 7:23 (New King James Version)

But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’

When you make a genuine relationship with the Holy Spirit, you will receive heavenly guidance. The Holy Spirit will lead you and communicate to you.
