The Genuine Christian People Don’t Settle For Second Best!

Listen to this article

In life, good enough is not what God created you for, and that is why the devil will encourage you by all means to settle for less.

Yes, it might be taking longer than expected, or even worse, it might be more difficult than you expected. Most of us are asking ourselves, Why me? why did this happen to me? Why has it taken so long?

As a result, we tend to settle for less due to peer pressure or when we are coerced or corrected by an authority. We settle because we fear the unknown or failing but always remember before you settle God says in Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Yes, there are things you should have done, but still, God is still calling you to come and reason with him about those things and then see what can be done to get you back to speed and on track, according to Isaiah 1:18.

So why are you settling for the leftovers and anything less than your best? Why are you not living to your true potential?

I know it’s not easy to wait for that thing, be it, Isaac, while you can still settle for an Ismael.

Abram waited for Isaac for 25 years; that’s a long time. No wonder Ishmael came, but that never made Abram settle. Stuff will happen, but that should not make you settle.

Settling comes at a cost, and that is the cost you don’t want to pay, not now, not ever. No matter what, keep trusting God and waiting upon him Habakkuk 2:3

When you start going to the gym, you don’t develop muscles overnight, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. Although some get into steroids and eventually get dangerous results, but you should Keep working, and you will get the results you are looking for if you don’t give up. Hebrews 11:6. God will exceed your expectations, according to Ephesians 3:20–21.

Refuse to settle for an average life or be a slave to the system because there is something deep inside you that wants more than you are getting from life.

The Story of how a spring Bok settles after a lion chases it.

As long as a springbok is being chased by a lion for food, it will keep running until the lion gets tired and stops chasing it, and then it also stops. That’s most of us here. You will run as long as you are getting pushed, motivated, coached, or rewarded by someone. Then you will keep doing what you are supposed to do and be who you are supposed to be. But when that stops, you stop and settle. Why can’t we act like a lion, which runs not because of all this but to get only food? When your goal is bigger than anything people can offer you, then time doesn’t matter, people’s opinions don’t matter, etc.

You might not have the right education, strength, or connections, but that is not an excuse to settle. Remember, if you stop, no one will pick you up. Always, remember the toughest battles come to the toughest warriors. So are you one of them?

If you want honey; don’t go after the bees; go after the hive; that’s where the honey is stored. All good and perfect things are hidden in God, and he is the only one who knows where he has hidden them.

When you are looking for a spouse to marry, you should find a person who the lord God loves, and then you’ll have the right partner. Instead of looking for men or women to convert to Christianity, spend that time pleasing God, and behind God is the person you are looking for.

Your best might not be another person’s best. So why settle for another person’s second best? Avoid comparing yourself to others. Don’t you know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalms 139:14.

How did you land to your second best?

There is a way that seems perfect that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12

Examples of people who settled:

Balaam needed a donkey to bring in order to speed with God’s will of not cursing his people, and instead blessing them.

Jonah thought Tarshish was the best but with God, that wasn’t it was Nineveh. Jonah 1:2-3.

Even when you miss the way and get lost due to immaturity or Ego God is willing to bring you back to speed by sending a person or a thing like a fish to bring you back on track to Nineveh.

You remember the story of the prodigal son who went off the track then God sent the pigs to bring him back.

Judges 14:2-4 (God’s ways are not our ways but they are the best even for Samson). God is always right even when your vision is far from God’s. One sign that you are settling is that you want to be like others out there you want to be compared with them or even copy them.

Refuse to settle and be an eagle

Let’s be like an eagle which refuses to settle for less like other big birds who have more potential than it yet they don’t use it. Just imagine an ostrich it’s among the biggest birds but it settles to walking instead of flying.

What about a parrot it just talks too much but it flies so low compared to an eagle which is very silent but can go to very high altitudes where you can’t find any other bird. Brethren stay away from any other narrow-minded people.

Eagles fly together after all birds of the same feather fly together. Show me your friends and I will tell you your character, according to 1 Corinthians 15:33.

No matter what an eagle keeps focus on its prey, which might be around 5km, and will not settle for anything until it grabs it. So no matter what happens, keep moving, no matter what. Just like an eagle it never gives up due to the size or strength of its opponent. So, no matter what size your problem is, you should face it head-on.

Eagles love storms because they use them to propel themselves to higher heights where they don’t have to fly but glide. During a storm, other birds hide themselves in trees which is very dangerous. So instead of running away from problems we should face them head-on and get the benefits that come from them.

I love eagles because they are not too lazy to feed on dead animals (scavenge). They always kill prey by themselves. So never rely on past successes; instead, keep looking for new ones.

Just like eagles, always prepare for training. An eagle tires its nest and forces its young one out to learn to fly. Start by training your child and even yourself. So don’t settle; instead, leave your comfort zone.

Just like an eagle, there is time to refire by fasting. For an eagle, it goes far high in the mountain, plucks all its feathers, breaks its claws, and beaks against the rocks. He stays there until all grows, and then it returns, flying higher than before. So, brethren, do you feel like retiring due to old habits? Do this, and instead, you will not settle but refire.

But remember, God will give you a good measure pressed down running over blessing (Luke 6:38), or even better than that, what the eye has not seen is a custom made only for your blessing (1 Corinthians 2:9). Just know that if God says it, he will accomplish it.

God doesn’t lie or change his mind when it comes to what he has promised you. Maybe we are the ones who end up compromising and hence miss our very best.

Our biggest mistake is we tend to accept second best situations by trying to manage them, by trying to compare ourselves to our colleagues.

Sarah watered the dream of having a baby because it seemed too good to be true,

Instead of coming to God’s level, we try to bring God to our level. Never underestimate God; he is God and will always be so.

Remember, you might not have what it takes or the resources to accomplish your dream, but God has everything, and all he needs to do is just believe. Take the limits of God.

God has everything that can change your situation. If you don’t have something, it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have it.

How to not settle for less:

Are you surrounding yourself with believers? People who have great dreams and who will keep you on your toes and also hold you accountable.

King David was surrounded by Jonathan and became king, although he was a farm boy, so who are the people you surround yourself with?

I refuse to believe in the impossible. Since my bible says all things are possible according to Luke 1:37, So I continue to push the limits and boundaries set by the community. The only limitations are the ones I set for myself. I will never stop believing in myself, no matter what others say. I continue working on becoming a better version of myself. As long as I can believe it, I can achieve it. Because I know something they don’t know. They don’t know the sacrifices and lengths I am willing to go to.

They don’t know that I have the courage of a lion, the strength of a thousand men and I am backed by all of heaven

Hence, I follow my own path and not what is common to everyone. I refuse what is given to me by life. There are others who will say it can’t be done; don’t join them. As a result of their views and opinions, they will knock you down and hold you there.

PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) means you sleep late and wake up early. What is your excuse? You must be willing to do what 99% of people are not willing to do. In order to have the things that others don’t have, you must do the things others are not willing to do.

Sacrifice now and then enjoy later. It better to fail going after your vision than to fail because you settle while others were settling.

Do you want to change or get more out of life. Don’t fear failure but fear settling. Remember after rain comes the rainbow. It always gets darker before dawn.

You must first become rich and successful from the inside before you become rich on the outside for others to see.

Have you ever been at the bottom its ok to know there is a place called bottom so that when you get to the top you don’t settle.

Don’t plan forever and do nothing at least take baby steps toward something big. Combine a little planning and doing, Remember faith has to be accompanied with works (James 2:17). Be a doer from today.

Rome wasn’t built in a day but brick by brick by brick until became that mighty Rome you knew.so take some action from today going forward. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect to get started. Remember every door that opens is not necessarily the right door to go through. So why are you compromising just to fit in.

Do you believe in yourself and what you are selling to others is it so bad that if you were asked to buy your own product you won’t so why do you think people will follow you or support you.
