Are our children a gift from God?
If our Children are God’s gift then what could be the problem? Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from the father above.
Did you know that most of our children are supposed to be as clean and as white as snow in every way, according to Isaiah 1:18, but due to their parent’s faulty backgrounds and due to their involvement with the occult, demonic covenants and generational curses these children have a stain in their supposed new lives.
After all, the bible says in the Book of Lamentations 5:7, “Our ancestors sinned, but now they are gone, and we are suffering for their sins.”
Have you ever seen in a certain family that all the boys or girls never get married or if they get married, they end up divorcing or being divorced by their partners? or Have you ever seen in another family where the girls are successful, and the boys are losers? or Have you ever seen yet in another family where the boys are drunkards and/or drug addicts? Or have you ever seen also that in another family either the boys or girls never reach a certain age, and they just die just like that?
These are some of the signs that there is a big problem underlining in that family which needs to be addressed as soon as possible. You can’t ignore a problem and assume that it will go away after a while? Also, you can’t solve a problem at the level it was created. Remember ignorance is not Defence. Saying I didn’t know or I don’t care, will cost you a lot.
In the Book of Proverbs 22:6, it says Train your children in the way they should go and NOT the way they want to GO. If you allow them to make their choices, they will always make the wrong ones. After all the Bible says, in Proverbs 22:15
Children just naturally do silly, careless things, but a good spanking will teach them how to behave.
Give them a foundation to start their lives. Just imagine a house without a foundation or is built on the wrong foundation like the house that was built on the sand instead of the rock in the book of Matthew 7:24-27
Psalm 11:3 When the foundations are destroyed, what can the godly accomplish?
Look at the homes we have today, it’s the kids who direct the parents and no wonder we have so much moral decay.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 Never forget these commands that I am giving you today. Teach them to your children. Repeat them when you are at home and when you are away, when you are resting and when you are working. Tie them on your arms and wear them on your foreheads as a reminder. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
Your children should know that reading the Bible and attending church is not an option, as long as they are under your roof. The children should know that they don’t have a choice until they live your home and go.
Yes, the bible says we should teach our children but are we really teaching them at all or are we letting others do it for us. Maybe the TV, school and peers are doing it for us. But what teaching or moral values are our children been introduced to?
Remember you can’t stop the bird from flying over your head but you can stop them from patching on top of your head.
Yes, the children might be taught all the nonsense in the world by whoever but it’s your duty as a parent to uproot it and plant the right things. But just imagine we instead defend our children even when they are wrong. You might think that you are fighting for your child when the teachers, pastors, and elders try to discipline the child but instead, you are losing the child. That child will one day make you cry instead of smile due to lack of discipline on the part of your child.
That is where disciplining your child comes in place just as in Proverbs 19:18 Discipline your children while they are young enough to learn. If you don’t, you are helping them destroy themselves.
Children are the heritage of a believer; it is every believer’s right to have children because it is a reward from God whom we serve. God has placed them under our watch. And we must do everything possible to protect them. However, in order for evil not to befall them, our constant prayers are needed for the protection of their life, destiny, position, grace, gifts, vision etc.
I encourage you today, never stop praying for your children, remember evil is lurking at every corner of life ready to destroy your child, they need your prayers and not your wishes, like Job, (Job 1:5), always stand in the gap for them in prayers and God will save them and you will become a proud parent in the end in Jesus name.
Let us pray for our children.
