Today I am not talking about just a blessing or a miracle. But I am going further than that, I am talking about a hundredfold blessing.
According to 1 Timothy 6: 9,17 to 19 I am not talking about a get rich scheme or a Ponzi scheme, this as you have heard from the bible is very dangerous and can lead to destruction. Neither am I talking about the demonic way of getting wealth mentioned in the bible (Matthew 4:8-9). All I am talking about is God’s way of getting wealth after all he is the one who can give you true riches (Deuteronomy 8:18)
STORY 1: YOU WANT TO GET RICH FOR DOING NOTHING
One day a mighty prophet of God visited a small village and there he found a very lazy man who never wanted to work at all. Instead, he kept blaming God for his poverty, he hated anything to do with the church and those who attended it. On hearing this the prophet said to the villagers: “go and bring him to me”, but the villagers begged the prophet to leave that poor man alone because they thought that he would abuse them.
They eventually went and brought the lazy man to the prophet, at first, he tried to convince those villagers that this man so-called a prophet was just after their money and nothing else. But after they assured him that this prophet could solve his poverty problem he agreed and followed them.
When this man arrived, he first asked this prophet to tell him what his God had given him except this useless body with money.
The poor man went on to say what shall I do with this useless body without money. Then the prophet said instead of insulting others and blaming them for your poverty why can’t you work to get rid of your poverty. This poor man told the prophet to stop giving him a lecture and do a miracle so that he could get that money he was promised otherwise he should’ve stopped wasting his time.
Then the prophet remembered a very wealthy man in his hometown who was blind but was willing to give anyone half his wealth in exchange for his two eyes. So, he told this poor man that he could take him to this wealthy man so that he could get half his wealth in exchange for his eyes. At this point, the poor man was interested in what the prophet was saying but he was not willing to give his eyes, so he asked the prophet couldn’t he take anything else, the prophet said yes even one eye will get you a quarter of his wealth.
So, on hearing this the poor man refused and said that he will not give even one eye to anyone in exchange for anything in return. The poor man said to him:” what will I do with that money without eyes.”, I will not sell my priceless eyes they are precious.
The prophet replied by saying this to the man to the man but when we met you told me that your body was useless. But now you are telling me it is priceless after hearing this the poor man began to cry. Remember whatever we get for free we do not value it. We should never consider ourselves useless because of one or two failures in life.
So from today start thinking of what you have and not what you don’t have and in short count your blessings one by one. Whether its 30,60 or 100(hundredfold).
How can I differentiate a Hundred-fold blessing from an ordinary blessing?
Before you receive the hundredfold blessing there will be 30 and 60-fold blessing. So where are you now?
Mark 4:1-4, 8
God blesses us in varying degrees as our faith increases. Since the devil can’t stop God from blessing you then he can restrict how much blessing reaches you. Through sin (Isaiah 59:1-2) and even unbelief (2 Kings 7:2). So be careful who you hang around with. So, people you hang around can’t seem to accept whatever the Lord has promised to bless you with. so who have you put in charge of your gate? Who speaks into your life? Some of these people might block your Hundredfold blessings.
30-fold
Genesis 13:2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
Genesis 30:43 In this way Jacob became very wealthy. He had many flocks, slaves, camels, and donkeys.
Job 1: 1 to 3,10 Job was very rich. He had 7000 sheep, and 3000 camel
1 Kings 10:23 King Solomon was richer and wiser than any other king,
60-fold
Job 42:12
So, the LORD blessed the second part of Job’s life more than the first. He had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.
What is a Hundred-fold blessing?
It’s more than these two folds, and it is a process to get there. But you won’t get to the Hundredfold blessing if you are still living with a desert mentality,
The verse below is the true Canaan land mentality.
Mark 10:28-30
Then Peter spoke up, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.” “Yes,” Jesus said to them, “and I tell you that those who leave home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and for the gospel, will receive much more in this present age. They will receive a hundred times (hundredfold), more houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields—and persecutions as well; and in the age to come they will receive.
Just like today’s people they are worried if they become so serious, they might lose everything. They want God to first promise them and even guarantee them that it shall be well with them when they give. But that is not how it works, remember Abram he always trusted God 100% and that is why he received a hundredfold blessing. When God said to Abram leave, he just left (Genesis 12:1), and when He said give me your son Isaac as an offering he gave (Genesis 22:1-2). So, what has God told you to do? Remember where God sends, he provided (Genesis 22:8-12)
1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great door is opened to me, filled with opportunities and many opponents. What have you left behind? Is it friends, career, or business for the sake of the kingdom? No matter what you are going through God is watching and he will reward you.
Examples of people who received the hundredfold blessing.
Genesis 26:12-13 Isaac sowed crops in that land, and that year he harvested a hundred times (in short he got a hundredfold). as much as he had sown because the LORD blessed him. and he became richer and richer until he was exceedingly wealthy.
Proverbs 10:22
It is the LORD’s blessing that makes you wealthy. Hard work can make you no richer. God thrives in every situation it doesn’t matter what is happening around you it might be wars, famine etc so sow whatever God asks you. We must be operating in Kingdom’s (heaven) economy and this world economy (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
STORY 2: START GIVING AND YOU WILL START RECEIVING.
One day a certain mighty man of God visited a very poor village, during his visit people kept coming to hear his teachings and seek God’s counsel. They would come in sad but leave very happy. In that same village, there lived a certain beggar who had so many problems, so at the request of his parents, he visited this preacher to see if God will help him. When it was his turn to speak to this man of God the poor man said to him that he was born unlucky, and he believed that God did not give him wealth at all.
The man of God said, “I don’t think so, instead I believe that you have chosen to be poor because you don’t want to give anything to anyone.” Then the poor man looked at this man of God with disbelief and even answered him back saying, ” did you not hear what I told you that I am very poor, and I don’t have anything to give anyone.” So how can I give anyone anything?
The man of God answered him back by saying, “have so many things to give to others it’s only that you are either mean or ignorant, God has given you a lot of things to share with others.” After you start sharing with others God will release the hundredfold blessing to you.
The man of God said to the beggar that God has given you a smile to smile with those who are hurting, He has given you a mouth to speak sweet words of encouragement to the hopeless. God has given your eyes to look at others kindly. God has given you two hands to go and work to help yourself and others in need. So, if you have hands, eyes, mouth, and ears you are not poor. On hearing this advice from the man of God, the poor man was very happy and never spoke like this again.
Most people are like these poor beggars they only think of what God has not yet given and they forget what God has given them. To become rich, you must be willing to give first according to Luke 6:38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” This is a law that can’t be broken or changed by you or me. Following this law you will get hundredfold.
According to 1 Kings 3:4, Solomon gave God so much, and then God visited him and blessed him with riches. Those who give can’t be poor at all.
STORY 3: We thank God for everything (Everything Happens for a Reason) Romans 8:28
In a distant land there lived a cruel king who had a loyal servant, who was a Christian. This servant was used to saying, “everything happens for a reason”. Then one day the king was sharpening his sword and by mistake, the sword fell on his right foot and cut one of his toes. On seeing this the servant said to the King not to worry because everything happens for a reason. The King in great pain called the guards and they arrested the servant and threw him in Jail. While the servant was being dragged from the King, he said everything happens for a reason. The King was shocked because he saw nothing good in this.
After recovery, the King decided to go hunting in the forest with some of his friends while in the jungle the King got lost and was captured by the tribal clans living in that jungle. They planned to sacrifice him to their gods but when they were just about to sacrifice him, they noticed the missing toe and they released him because he was incomplete, and they believed that their gods wouldn’t accept that sacrifice. So, he was happy to be alive and then he went home.
On arriving at home, he ordered for the release of his servant who when he came to the King the King said to him, “I now understand what you used to say when you said everything happens for a reason. Because if my toe wasn’t cut that day I would have been killed.” Then the King asked him, “what happened to you”, the servant replied saying, ” if I wasn’t in prison we would have gone together, and I would have been sacrificed instead of you, so everything happens for a reason.”
Did you know that there are sometimes when you feel like God has forgotten you when it comes to blessing people, your friends are all rich and you seem to be poor but after some time you look back and see that everything happened for a reason? Our limited intelligence is nothing compared to God’s all-knowing mind.
Genesis 29:12-32 when you start to succeed or reach the hundredfold people might be envious of you but don’t give up.
Deuteronomy 28: 10-11 And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. These people end up getting hundredfold.
