I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity (1 Timothy 2:2).
Brethren, during and even after these elections, let us be the light of this nation in the way we conduct, participate in, and accept the electoral process in a manner that reflects the character of Jesus Christ, we should uphold peace, love, unity, justice, respect, and human dignity at all times according to Romans 12:18. Peaceful elections begin in the hearts of individuals before they become visible in society.
Always remember that an election should never become a reason for a nation to destroy itself. Political leadership may change, political parties may disagree, and citizens may have different opinions, but the love of God, the value of human life and the peace of a nation must remain important. We must pray for the spiritual, moral, social and national conditions that allow our country to experience lasting peace.
Brethren, it’s our responsibility to pray for honest leadership, fairness, accountability, and integrity in the electoral process. Remember what God reminds us in the book of Jeremiah 29:7. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
God expects Christians to:
- Pray for their nation.
- Promote peace and reconciliation.
- Respect other people’s political choices.
- Reject violence and hatred.
- Speak truthfully.
- Encourage justice and righteousness.
- Pray for leaders, regardless of political affiliation.
- Remember that their ultimate allegiance is to God.
Let’s Pray For Peaceful Elections:
1. Heavenly Father, let Your peace reign over our nation throughout the election period, in Jesus’ name.
2. Heavenly Father, Father, let the Holy Spirit take control of every polling station, counting center, and election office, in Jesus’ name.
3. Heavenly Father, let every plan of violence, bloodshed, and destruction against our nation be frustrated, in Jesus’ name.
4. Heavenly Father, let Your divine presence overshadow our nation from the beginning to the end of the elections, in Jesus’ name.
5. Heavenly Father, silence every voice encouraging hatred, division, and political violence, in Jesus’ name.
6. Heavenly Father, prevent every attempt to turn political disagreements into tribal, racial, or religious conflict, in Jesus’ name.
7. Heavenly Father, protect children, women, elderly people, and vulnerable citizens during this election period, in Jesus’ name.
8. Heavenly Father, give election officials the courage to uphold truth and justice in the counting and announcement of election results in Jesus’ name.
9. Let our roads, hospitals, schools, churches, and other public institutions remain safe during the election period from destruction, in Jesus’ name.
10. Heavenly Father, remove the desire to punish innocent citizens because of their political choices, in Jesus’ name.
11. Let our next government become an instrument of peace and national development, in Jesus’ name.
12. O Lord Jesus, let our nation enter a new season of peace, unity, and stability during and after these elections.
13. Heavenly Father, let no crisis arise after the announcement of election results in Jesus’ name.
14. Let the spirit of reconciliation overcome the spirit of hostility in our nation during these elections, in Jesus’ name.
15. Let every agenda to plunge our nation into post-election chaos be frustrated in Jesus’ name
God bless our nation
