Origin Of Father’s Day And Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is not a government holiday (it’s a pagan festival in honor of the Sun god) and falls on the second Sunday (Sun-day) of May. The date of the holiday changes each year but always remains on a Sunday.
Mothers have been respected throughout history, hence a holiday in their honour was observed, and then later Father’s Day came into being in most nations. … The tradition dates back to pagan celebrations in ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the mother of the gods. In Rome, too, Cybele, a mother of goddesses, was worshipped as early as 250 B.C.
Origin Of Father’s Day
Father’s Day is not a government holiday (it’s also a pagan festival in honour of Sun god) and falls on the third Sunday (Sun-day) of June. The date of Father’s day changes each year but always remains on a Sunday.
Every year, Father’s Day is celebrated by families all around the world. Fathers everywhere receive new socks, bizarre flavors of barbecue sauce
REMEMBER
The only reason these holidays (Father’s day and Mother’s day) are pagan is that they draw God’s honor unto men by calling them father or mother and that angers God. According to Matthew 23:9–12, And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted”.
According to Romans 1:25, we no longer know what to worship or who to worship anymore; hence we worship the sun.
Between me and you, we know that there is a great difference between a father and a dad
A father is someone who believes that by donating his sperm for your creation, he has done his duty in life. … A dad is someone who gets up every day and does whatever he can to put a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food on your table. So, some are just fathers and not dads
According to Matthew 15:26, Jesus understood what belonged to the children and what belonged to the visitors and the visitor understood that. What Jesus was saying to those visitors was is remember it has cost me sleepless nights in the mountain seeking God’s face to get this and yet you want it cheaply and you don’t want to belong to God’s Kingdom. No way. It’s for members ONLY. No wonder Jesus was very keen when an outsider touched him (Luke 8:45). You can’t have children’s bread without being part of the kingdom (Matthew 15:26).
According to 1 Thessalonians 2:11–12 a good father comforts and encourages his children to live a Godly life. So just imagine what God will do for us.
According to Joshua 24:15, a good father makes important decisions for their family about how to use their resources, how to spend their time, what to prioritize, and even what ideas and worldviews will influence those decisions.
According to Deuteronomy 6:6–7, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them with your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.”
According to Proverbs 22:6
Start children off on the way they should go. Dads get to help lay the foundation for those decisions.
An example of a good spiritual father was Abram. He was the father of Isaac(son) but also is our spiritual father (Galatians 3:29). Even in heaven that concept of a good father was used their (Luke 16:19–31)
Also, according to 2 Kings 2:12 Elijah was a good spiritual father who passed something to Elisha no wonder Elisha called him my father.
