WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES
Romans 3: 9,10,12,23, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, When you end up in a mistake you always question yourself and even say to God, why me? But remember you are not the first to do that mistake many others did it and came out stronger so somewhere lies the solution. You only have to look for it in the right place. Learn to let go of that mistake and not the lesson and you will succeed.
Some mistakes are very expensive, and you wouldn’t want to make them again. According to Genesis 6:5-7, God regretted creating us… which cost Him His only begotten son to rectify this mistake (John 3:16).
Hence many people are afraid of making mistakes and they end up not doing anything. When you make a mistake, think of a baby, it falls so many times before it can walk, and yet it doesn’t give up. The biggest mistake you can make is being afraid that you are going to make a mistake.
STORY ABOUT A LION, Hyena, AND A FOX WHO LEARNED FROM THEIR MISTAKES.
The hyena, lion and fox were great friends and one day they went hunting with an understanding that they would share the kill equally. Suddenly they saw a gazelle, which they chased, caught and killed. After killing it they decided it was time to share it, as agreed. The lion told the hyena to share the kill between the three of them.
So, the hyena shared the kill into three equal parts, and on seeing this the lion got very angry because he thought the hyena would give him the largest share, as he was the largest. As a result of his anger, he killed the hyena, and then he told the fox to share the kill, but by then the fox had learned from the mistake made by the hyena, so he didn’t repeat it and instead gave the lion the biggest share which was the lions share. So, the lion was very happy and chose to remain friends with the fox.
The main point is, learn from other people’s mistakes to avoid making the same costly mistakes.
Some life lessons are better taught when you make a mistake.
Thomas Edison tried 2000 materials in search of a filament for a bulb. His assistant was very angry and complained that they had learnt nothing. Edison told him that they had learnt a lot from those 2000 mistakes they made because they now knew that there was 2000 ways that wouldn’t help them in their quest. Make as many mistakes as you can, but don’t repeat the same mistake twice. To reach your full potential you will have to make many mistakes. If you haven’t made any mistakes, then you have never tried anything big or small.
Focus on the miracle and let go of the mistake. When you don’t learn a lesson from your mistakes that is also a mistake. Instead of carrying along your past mistakes, carry along the lessons learned then. Before you become wise you have first to learn to not repeat a mistake twice.
According to Genesis 17:20 Although Ishmael was a mistake God still used him. Genesis 16:1-16 Then Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between you and me.”
Our mistakes don’t catch God by surprise. God won’t let us make the mistake if he doesn’t have a way out of it. All things work for good for those who love the lord including those mistakes. Sometimes we make mistakes trying to help God due to our impatience. We all have some Ishmael’s in our lives, and we don’t know what to do with them but just be patient it’s part of God’s plan.
According to Genesis 37:28, the Ishmaelites were very important to Joseph achieving his dream. God can use a mistake that was done many years to bring forth a miracle (Genesis 50:20). A mistake is a vehicle for God to take you where God wants you to be.
The prodigal son made a mistake, yes but he still came back and reconnected with his miraculous life. Don’t let the devil remind you of your past mistakes. Go back to God he is waiting for you Isaiah 1:18. How can you return to God who you feel is far away?
A Story About Why We only see other people’s mistakes and not our own.
Once upon a time there was a young boy and his sister who were the best of friends, until one day the young boy killed his granny’s chicken by mistake and since the sister was watching the whole fiasco, she told her brother that she was going to tell her granny all about it. But because the boy didn’t want to have made any mistakes in his granny’s sight. He asked his sister not to tell his granny about it in exchange for the boy doing all his sister’s duties. This went on for some time until the boy couldn’t handle it anymore and then he reported his mistake to his granny who said that she knew about that mistake and was wondering why he chose to be controlled by his sister.
Admit your mistake before someone uses it against you. Remember mistakes are forgivable as long as you are willing to admit them.
2 Samuel 11:3 David married Uriah’s wife which was a mistake but out of that mistake came out a miracle called Solomon one of the wisest kings. If that mistake did not destroy you or kill you it will make you stronger. Learn from your own mistake but first, you must be willing to admit that you made a mistake and then move past that mistake and toward the miracle.
According to 2 Peter 2:22 “A dog returns to its vomit,” and “A pig that is washed goes back to wallow in the mud.” So, stop looking at your past mistakes unless you are planning to visit them soon. Your energy is focused where your mind is, hence if it’s in your past mistakes then you will never get those miracles that were hidden in the mistakes.
Romans 7:15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. Sometimes mistakes might be as a result of our negligence or because the mistake was beyond our control.
