Courage and God.
To become a good Christian, it takes courage, and you need God by your side. Now having said that, let’s go straight to the word. Let’s read from the book of Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart.” Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the LORD in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the LORD and refuse to do wrong. If you do, it will be like good medicine, healing your wounds and easing your pains.
To see giants fall, red sea’s part and mountains crumble before you, you will need to have great courage and God by your side. Just as Jesus used parables or illustrations to drive home a certain important point to his followers. I am also going to use an illustration to drive a certain point today.
I will use an illustration to share a few truths of life about courage and God.
Once upon a time, there lived 4 frogs in a distant land. They liked walking in the forest every evening, and one evening they went farther than they used to, and they reached an abandoned well in a deeper part of the forest. As they were trying to investigate because of their courage what the purpose of the well was, they fell into the well. The atmosphere inside the well was very cool, there was also enough food and the conditions were just right for the frogs to live in.
So immediately, 3 of these frogs agreed and said that they had all they needed in the world, they also agreed that they were going to stay there for the rest of their lives, while the other frog said that he couldn’t stay there while there was a whole forest that needed to be explored. He decided to continue alone till he saw what was at the other end of the forest.
So as a result of its courage, the frog left immediately and went wandering in the forest for days, until he found a lake at the end of the forest. He looked at it and couldn’t believe that it had clear water, enough sunshine, and more than enough food. As a result of seeing the perfect living conditions of the lake the frog decided to live there, after some time the frog decided to go back to the abandoned well to see what had happened to the other 3 frogs
On arriving, he found the other 3 frogs who chose to stay behind due to a lack of courage. The frog tried to explain to them about what he found, the huge lake with an incredible amount of space and the other benefits, but they
So, after some time had passed, it stopped raining and the forest started drying and so the water in the well decreased. As a result of this one of those 3 frogs inside the well remembered the story of the lake when he saw what was happening. He also tried to reason with the other 2 frogs, but they refused and they instead told themselves that they would wait for things to go back to where they used to be.
But by now the well had almost dried out so it wasn’t easy to climb out of it. So this one frog took courage and tried very hard to jump out of the well as many times as he could but during all this time the other 2 frogs kept laughing and laughing at this frog, but he didn’t give up and after a couple of tries he jumped out, and immediately the frog ran to the lake where his friend was waiting. Soon the other two died in there because the well dried completely and it was impossible to climb out of when they had made up their minds to climb out.
There are a few lessons about Courage that we can draw from this illustration:
As Christians we need to take courage so that it can enable us to take adventurous journeys like these frogs when they began their adventure. Just like this one shouldn’t be the end by itself, but it should be a new beginning a door opener to new opportunities. Let’s not be like those 2 frogs who lacked courage and died because they ,chose to be less adventurous, remember that there is a whole world to be conquered out there. It depends on how adventurous you are.
When you become a Christian full of courage you will meet all manner of people some will tell you to go and stay at home and wait for the government to create jobs, and others will tell you that you don’t need to do anything and that you should let the government do everything; others will tell you to wait for your parents or your relatives to get you into a nice job. In short, they all say that you shouldn’t worry and you should stay at home and wait for things to be ok. The world is mean and it’s not safe out there.
But always remember that Comfort zones are dying zones so if you don’t take courage and keep moving you will be overrun by the world. Remember the world is moving very fast and it won’t wait for you to lazy around like those 2 frogs. So, become like that one frog that said there is a whole world waiting for him to explore it and kept moving.
So go out there by faith and try everything your hands find to do. Some of the things you will try will fail while others will succeed. Who knows you might be the next Thomas Edison, because for him to invent the bulb he was tired of thinking like the rest of the folks who wanted to continue using candles and lamps. He chose to do something about it, Edison failed 1000 times and then he invented the bulb you see today
Even when he was asked by a reporter how it felt to fail 1000 times he replied: “I didn’t fail 1000 times, it was a 1000-step process to get it right“. That should be your attitude when you fail you keep moving don’t be easily discouraged. Keep trying no matter what. Never give up, and always remember when you are about to give up what the bible says in Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
So don’t limit yourself while the lord created you without any limitations. With God, you are a majority. With this mindset, God will send people, close and even open doors until your goal is met. After all, God’s ways are not our ways Isaiah 55:8-9
From today learn to accept failure as part of learning in the classroom of life. It’s better to fail trying than to never try at all. Never live a life full of regrets what if I could have done this or that? The more people tell you its impossible to get a job or to do a certain thing the more you should be prepared to prove them wrong, like that one frog who proved the other 3 frogs wrong.
Be willing to learn no man is an island after all the bible says
According to Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death, and that could be the way you have taken. Always remember that: Proverbs 12:15 Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.
Don’t be the first to refuse everything you are being told simply because of one reason or the other. Give the person a chance don’t shut the person up by telling him or her that you know what you are doing, because after all you went to school.
Remember you were given two eyes to see more and two ears to hear more but God gave you one mouth so that you can speak less, so speak less and do more based on what you have seen or heard from others. You don’t have to invent the wheel let others do that and you take advantage
Yes, things might be hard even now but never give up because as long as you don’t give up there is still hope. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 9:4 There is hope, however, for anyone who is among the living; for even a live dog is better than a dead lion. Take calculated risks and you will end up with unmerited blessings. Take calculated risks and you will attract miracles in your life. Remember In everything you do, Put God first and success will be guaranteed. With that said, I wish you the best in life. See you at the top.
