Brethren, We live in a modern-day society, which believes that there is a shortcut to everything including wealth, happiness and eternity, So, they turn to the shortest and the best route to everywhere except where there are true answers. Some β€œChristians” are even willing to pay for prayers even if it means bribing the β€œmen of God” in whatever way, use even witchcraft.

To them, shortcuts usually seem like a good idea, but unfortunately, what they don’t know is that shortcuts always don’t work out and are even more dangerous. So, we should avoid short cuts at all cost on our spiritual journey. Have you ever taken what you thought was a shortcut, only to find the way more difficult and end up taking longer to get to your destination? Just remember that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest.

Dangers of Shortcuts

According to Proverbs 14:12 β€œThere is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to death.” Yet, no deception is present when God and His Word are involved.

Brethren ask yourself Why are so many getting caught up in the shortcuts to try to bend the God’s will to their will? Why are they seeking the roads so many travelled before that led them down a false path? Do I need God’s best way or a shortcut leading to nowhere?

Adam and Eve, after being warned directly and personally by God, nonetheless almost immediately did what God had said not to do. Adam chose what he thought would be a shortcutβ€”he would not have to follow all that God had been teaching him but could choose right and wrong for himself.

He did not have to wait for God to give him eternal life, he already had it, right? β€œYou will not surely die,” Adam and Eve were told by the serpent in the garden. When it comes to our path to God, to spirituality, to eternity and peace of mind, we must follow the directions given to us in the Holy Bible. Those directions tell us to stay far away from the ways of darkness.

As true believers, we must be mindful of people along the way who promote shortcuts. For instance, some would have us believe that since Christ died for our sins, there is no need for us to be concerned about keeping His laws. But what does God’s Word tell us? According to Romans 6:15 saysβ€œWhat then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not!”.

Paul continued in verse 18, β€œHaving been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. β€œTo add to this point 1 John 1:5-6 says, β€œGod is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk-in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth”.

Some years back the church and even the state did not allow such things (witchcraft, casting spells) they were illegal but slowly they are becoming more common.

It has been a progression for some time to make the occult mainstream. Nowadays most TV shows show Arm robbers and drug traffickers getting rich quickly and even witches are shown as very good people offering an alternative solution from God’s ONLY way (Second opinion)

There has never been a time in the history of mankind that our Creator has left us without directions, but most of mankind has rejected His Way and searched for a shortcut. And as mankind turns away from the Bible and the knowledge from God of the Way, many are falling into that same old trap laid by Satan the Devil that promises a shortcut to great rewards without making any effort.

People who get involved with the occult find their lives consumed by it as they become absorbed into an alternate reality. Jesus turned down the shortcut that Satan offered him. He knew it was the path not only to his own destruction, but to all the future family He was willing to sacrifice his life for. Jesus warned us: β€œEnter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).

If we are following Christ, we are following a path that will eventually lead us to the Kingdom of God. It may not always be an easy path to follow. As Jesus said, β€œNarrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life” (Matthew 7:14).We have eternity in our hearts, God put it there. We cannot fathom a time when we would not exist, and without knowledge of the strait and narrow way, we find many broad ways that offer the same rewards. But can they deliver?

The truth is, when it comes to our path to God, to spirituality, to eternity and peace of mind, we must follow the directions given to us in the Holy Bible. Those directions tell us to stay far away from the ways of darkness(shortcuts). Those paths will only lead to dark, twisted ways that take us further away from our Creator.
