God is a spirit. Those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24).
Since God is a spirit, it means that God started by creating our spirit body according to 1 Corinthians 15:44, “…If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.” (Therefore, Spiritual Battles also take place before physical ones.), We see that according to Psalm 139:15, “…this spiritual body was secretly made out of human sight, in a hidden place (in the depths of the earth or in the underground workshop.)
So we see that according to Psalm 139:16, “…Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything about me.” The Bible in the Book of Jeremiah 1:5 tells us, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
So you can see that before you were even born, God had ordained who you would become, what you would need to do to become that, and even the people who would help you become that.
God has planned where you will be born, and the kind of life you will lead, and everything God has planned for each one of us is good according to Jeremiah 29:11, but remember, the devil doesn’t want you to have that, so he helps you complicate your life. According to Ecclesiastes 7:29, “ This is all that I have learned: God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated.”
For some of us, before we were born into this physical world, God had ordained so much for us to achieve here. For instance, Jeremiah was supposed to be a prophet, Moses was supposed to lead the children of Israel from Egypt to the promised land, and Jesus was supposed to save the whole world.
What Determines The Spiritual Battles We Would Have?
You can see that the bigger the responsibility God has assigned you, the bigger the fight (a spiritual battle) you will have to fight to accomplish it.
So the kind of fight (a spiritual battle) you will fight in this world will be determined by what you carry inside your spiritual body. For instance, you can see that Paul was ordained by God to do a lot here on earth, and that is why he was faced with many dangerous situations: perilous rivers, robbers, foreigners, and even his people the jews, according to 2 Corinthians 11:25–30, but he fought all that and ended up saying in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.”
We also see that although David was born as a poor farm boy, but according to his heavenly records, he was supposed to be a king, and that is why we see that the devil sent a bear, a lion, his relatives, and even a giant to stop him from becoming a King but he fought them all and became the king he was made to be by God. That is what Paul calls a good fight so can you say that you have fought a good fight so far?
You can see that inside the spiritual body of David, it was carrying a nation and kingdoms like King Solomon, and even Jesus was to be born from there! So now you can see why the devil wanted to kill him at all costs to prevent all this good from happening.
According to 1 Timothy 6:10, many Christians started well and even fought well to a point, but due to the love of the things of this world, they wandered out of their true faith, and unfortunately, they didn’t finish their race. So be careful to finish the race well. Look at what is happening in the Christian world today, some Christians have even sold their souls
According to the demonic world, when they look at you, they don’t only see your physical body: they also see your spiritual body, which is loaded with heavenly blessings and that is what they target to steal or destroy, For instance, you can see that according to Genesis 27:36, Jacob stole Esau’s birthright as well as his blessings.
That is why the Bible says we must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–18), to safeguard you from these demonic agents who are not only willing to fight you but also to see from you those blessings God has deposited in you.
Brethren, the biggest mistake in the world is to come to this world loaded with heavenly blessings to be used here and only to return with them unused back in heaven. That is why people say that “the graveyard is the richest place on earth because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to fight a good fight to achieve that.”
As Christians, we should make our master happy according to John 17:4 by saying, “I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”
This means that you are willing to work very hard to ensure that you leave everything done that the Lord sent you to do, no matter the cost.
Never forget that the only way you can know what God has preordained for you is through prayer and fasting, It’s only prayers that open the heavens and display what God had intended for you. For instance, according to Luke 3:21-22, we see that so many people were baptized that day, at that same river, by the same John the Baptist, but because they were maybe not expecting anything as a result of this baptism, they didn’t attract heaven’s attention, and that is why only Jesus touched heaven with his prayers and a ministry was born from that.
Although we might be attending the same church, and praying the same prayers but always remember that according to Hebrews 11:6, “..God is a rewarder of them that diligently (earnestly or sincerely) seek him.” Please go the extra mile, and do what others are not willing to do! Pray like it’s your last day on earth and you will touch heaven, and start winning in every battle you are engaged in.
You don’t have to be special for heaven to listen to you, as we see in the Book of James 5:17, “Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.”
You can not just assume that, since you are a good Christian, things will just happen. No, that is not the case because the devil will try to fight you to stop them from happening that way, According to Ephesians 6:12, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
This spiritual battle we are talking about is mostly fought in the spirit realm, and sometimes we end up seeing its impact here on earth.
According to John 21:18-19 Jesus prophesies to the young Peter that he will live a long life and even prophesies the kind of death he will die, but despite this prophecy, we see that the devil had other plans to get him killed before that time according to Acts 12:1-12, so just imagine if the church didn’t keep praying, then Peter would have been killed ,and we would not have the books of 1st and 2nd Peter in the bible written.
Just like the earlier church, they relaxed in their praying and lost Stephen through stoning, and they also lost John the Baptist through beheading until they started praying again. It might be the case with you that you used to pray a lot until you succeeded or got what you were looking for.
Brethren, you need to say enough is enough and start praying and fasting again, don’t give up like the way we see in Acts 12:6, “… peter was sleeping ..” instead of praying. We need to battle instead of relaxing. Always fight any battle placed before you through prayers, and you will win the battle through faith.
Remember what the Bible says in the Book of Proverbs 24:16, “Even if good ( righteous , just, or godly) people fall seven times, they will get back up…” So keep up no matter what happens or what you go through in life even if it’s the fires or waters of this world (Isaiah 43:2). It was this same Peter who recollected himself and continued to pray to a point that his shadow even healed people (Acts 5:15), and because of this, Cornelius almost worshipped him as we see in the book of Acts 10:25.
Remember that according to Acts 10:31, “…Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and has remembered your gifts to the poor.” So brethren, never forget that the prayers you pray all those days, months, and years go to God’s saving account, and one day you cash in that saving! Yes, you might not see anything now but keep praying. After all, according to Ephesians 3:20, “…God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
I see great people, great business people, and even mighty men and women of God among us, so don’t give up at all! Keep fighting any battle the world throws at you.
All you have to remember is what the Bible tells us in the book of 2 Chronicles 20:17, “You will not have to fight this spiritual battle. Just take up your positions and wait; you will see the LORD give you victory. People of Judah and Jerusalem, do not hesitate or be afraid. Go out to the spiritual battlefield, and the LORD will be with you!”
So do you know what the Lord has called you to do and if you know it, are you doing it with all your might?
Brethren, no matter what, “Do not be afraid,” Elisha answered, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”( 2 Kings 6:16). Also according to 1 John 4:4, “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”
Don’t worry because of where you are now or the mess you are in now because, according to 2 Chronicles 32:8 , “The king of Assyria has human power on his side, but the LORD our God is on our side to help us and fight our battles (both physical and Spiritual battles).” So the people were encouraged by what King Hezekiah of Judah said.”
According to 2 Chronicles 14:11, “Then Asa called to the LORD, his God, and said, “LORD, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, LORD, our God, for we rely on you, and in your name, we have come against this vast army. LORD, you are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.”
Remember that no weapon formed against you can succeed (Isaiah 54:17), nothing they use, be it experience, technology, or even witchcraft, can succeed in defeating you. After all, we see in 1 Samuel 17:45 what David said when under attack, “David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”
In closing, always remember that life is a battle itself, and only those fighting this battle alongside Christ will win it. Remember that any battle fought without the approval of God, is in vain. Never forget that when you delay a battle, you delay your rewards. So remember to fight every battle you encounter on your knees, and you will win every time.
