Simply because you have heard something about faith that doesn’t necessarily mean you know everything there is to know about faith. After all the Bible in 1 Corinthians 8:2 says If you think you know everything; you know nothing. If you think you know nothing; you know something. Faith is of the heart and not of the head and that is why you don’t need to understand it to enjoy its benefits. After all, you don’t need to understand how electricity is generated so as to use it. You might use it for the rest of your life without understanding how it’s generated.
So, hear this message about faith like you have never heard it before and don’t let pride rob you of the opportunity to grow.
Faith shows up in many forms for instance faith of God, faith in God, and faith for God’s miracles. Today we are going to talk about faith for God’s miracles.
What Is Faith?
Faith doesn’t make sense because it’s the currency we use to buy heavens miracles for use in our earth. So, faith is rare and that is why Jesus asked that when he returned would he find any faith remaining on earth, in the book of Luke 18:8.
It is like a loaded gun in the hands of a saint or a madman. For instance: According to Matthew 24:24 you should never forget that you are not alone in this race of faith. Remember that there are others who use this faith to do evil instead of Good.
Examples of people who abused faith:
Elisha used his faith to destroy the mocking boys (2 Kings 2:23-25)
Elijah used his faith to destroy the 50 soldiers (2 Kings 1:10-12)
Moses used his faith to get the earth to swallow 250 people who rebelled (Numbers 16:20 to 35)
Some preachers are using their faith to make people do nasty things like making them drink petrol, eat snakes, etc (1 John 4:1)
Remember in the book of John 8:32 you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. The bible doesn’t say you will know all truth to be set free, it is a journey the more truth you know the more faith you gain, and hence the more miracles you see.
It doesn’t mean that you can’t see miracles without faith but the more the faith the more the miracles you are likely to see in your life. So, increase your faith and you will see more miracles. Faith is like fuel to a car, and the more the fuel (faith) the farther one can go. “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” – Matthew 21:22. Peter walked in the water by faith until the fuel was all over and he began to sink (Matthew 14:29-33).
Little faith no miracles (Romans 10:17). It’s not miracles that generate faith, but faith that generates miracles.
Faith can be accessed to the level in which the vessel is cleansed from sin, unbelief, etc on the inside. If it is rusted by sin, then this tends to block or even slow the move of faith to see miracles. There are times you prayed with faith, but God answered but there are other times you put too much emotion, but nothing happened. A man should believe in God through faith, not because of miracles.
My faith didn’t remove the pain, but it got me through the pain. Now grow to a point your faith removes that pain. Simply because you can’t do it doesn’t mean that it can’t be done.
A story of driving a car without an engine to Increase Your faith 2 Cor. 5:7
The was a Christian soldier who worked with a very evil army commander who was always trying to mock his God and also test his faith and even get him fired.
So, one day the commander organized with other soldiers how they would get the Christian Soldier fired by removing the engine of one of the army jeeps and forcing him to drive it but if he refused then they would say to his superior that he was disobedient.
So, when he was told by this commander to move that jeep to a new location, he first prayed and asked God to help him then he drove it to that location. From that day they stopped mocking him and also believed in his God.
According to Mark 9:17-19, if it was in our modern-day the preachers would say it wasn’t God’s will, maybe there is a great sin, and one day in heaven he will be well. But Jesus didn’t say what they said instead he rebuked their unbelief. Jesus didn’t say anything else except have faith, but nowadays the devil is killing our faith by planting seeds of doubt.
Brethren don’t tell me sickness, poverty, or divorce is the will of God that is the work of the devil according to John 10:10. The easy way out of a problem, healing, etc is for many pastors is to say this is God’s will.
Nowadays preachers are mocked and called names, for instance many are called not modern, out of date and are behind time etc, because of not talking about faith people want to be told things which are like what the doctor says, and not what the bible says. Instead we should have the faith of the faithful one.
A story about climbing a mountain to make you trust in God.
Once there was a very skilled mountain climber who went to climb a certain mountain, but something went wrong during the climb causing the man to start falling down after making a mistake when climbing the mountain. The man prayed to God for help then immediately God answered him and said to him “Cut that rope and let me take over.” But the man refused to have faith in God and instead he tied himself to a nearby root. The next day he was found dead just three feet above the ground. So have faith in God and faith of God to see miracles. In short trust in God. If this man trusted God he would not have died.
